No Matter

The one on The Left says trust me I care
Searching for honesty cuz it’s so rare
The one on The Right says I know your fears
Well that’s ironic cuz you put them there
It doesn’t seem to fair that we have to choose
Whichever one seems lesser of two
Evils so it seems like we always lose
So I’ll put my faith in people it’s all we can do
But no matter what they say
We’ll just keep on fighting for that brighter tomorrow
It’s a struggle every day
Cuz nothing worth it ever comes easy
Drops of water grains of sand
Make a mighty ocean and the endless deserts
So let’s join across the land
I’ve been guilty a few too many times
Of judging people’s looks and not their minds
But looks can deceive and that’s the reason why
We should come together and not divide
I’ve noticed some people often seem like
They’re less concerned with facts and more with being right
Kids shot in the street in broad daylight
We’re still all human whether you are black or white

Fame

They're the flavour of the week
The details of their lives are all you see
But they're just like you and me
It's still air that they breathe, but we make them more
We watch their every move
Critiquing everything that they do
Waiting for them to prove what we already knew
That they are still human
And when did fame become a job?
The camera's always on
then we judge when they get caught
Because there's no running from mistakes that they have done
Even if it's just the first time
And when did fame become a job?
